Deep Hollow Hunting Preserve is a family owned and operated bird hunting preserve, located in Shenandoah County, Virginia, run by Mike Ryman and wife, Yvonne.
Hunt bobwhite quail, chukars, and ringneck pheasants on 145 acres of open, wooded, and brush-covered hillsides, hollows, and fields.
We offer hunting opportunities for the novice, moderate, and seasoned hunter. We offer half day and full day hunts.

We try to make your experience as memorable as possible! We offer trophy pictures and encourage you to (safely) take pictures during hunts if you choose.

Half Day Hunt
Only the Best
Saturday 9am-12 noon or
Sundays 1pm - 4pm
2 to 4 hunters
Includes 4 pheasant roosters, 4 pheasant hens, 8 chukars, 16 quail
Full Day Hunt
Saturdays only 9am - 4pm
Lunch break 12 - 1pm
Lunch is provided***
4 to 6 hunters
Includes 6 pheasant roosters, 6 pheasant hens, 12 chukars, 24 quail
For parties of more than 4 hunters, the group will be divided into 2 parties and an additional guide fee** is added to the package price.

Hunts will be booked at least 30 days prior.
A non-refundable deposit is due at booking.
Custom hunts will be booked minimum 45 days prior.

Extra Birds for Both Half and Full Day Hunts
Pheasant roosters or hens: $21.50 per bird
chukars: $14.00 per bird
quail: $10.00 per bird
*Includes Guide/dog fee of $50.00 on all hunts. Limit of four (4) hunters per guide. Parties of more than four will require an additional guide(s) and additional Guide or Guide/dog fee.
Hunters are welcome to use their own dogs, however must be accompanied by a guide due to a county regulation.
**Additional guide fee is $30.00 (guide only)
***Please let us know of dietary restrictions.
All hunters must abide by Virginia state game laws.
All participants in the hunt must wear blaze orange as required by state law.
Alcohol is prohibited on preserve premises.
All participants in the hunt must have a valid Virginia state issued hunting license, even if not actively participating in the hunt.
A special nonresident license to hunt exclusively on a shooting preserve is available.

Take Exit 273 To Mount Jackson.
Turn east off the exit towards Route 11.
At Route 11 (the stop light) turn right/south.
Follow Route 11 south to Orkney Grade/ Route 263.
Turn west onto Rt. 263/Orkney Grade.
Go 7 miles to 6815/6831 Orkney Grade.
Turn right into the drive to Deep Hollow Hunting Preserve.
From Route 42
Turn east onto Orkney Grade
Turn left into the drive to Deep Hollow Hunting Preserve (approx. 1/10 mile)
